HIFU Focal Therapy – Treatment Price

How much does HIFU Focal Therapy Treatment Cost?

At the Focal Therapy Clinic, you can access High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Focal Therapy treatment for prostate cancer once you have had a confirmed diagnosis.

As part of your treatment plan, we offer a unique, world-class contouring procedure for prostate MR imaging, allowing our team of specialists to pinpoint the precise location of your cancer within the prostate. This means we can focus your HIFU treatment on the affected area, rather than the entire prostate, which lessens the likelihood of causing damage to healthy tissue which can result in severe, permanent side-effects like erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence.

When you undergo non-invasive, same-day HIFU Focal Therapy treatment with the Focal Therapy Clinic, all aspects of your care will be provided by highly experienced, specialist medical staff, who are pioneering this type of prostate cancer treatment in the UK. This multidisciplinary team of medical experts from several different fields, including Urology and Oncology, have together successfully completed over 250 HIFU treatments for prostate cancer since 2016.

“Very, very pleased with the result. What a lucky guy I am”
Bruce, HIFU patient

Finding out whether you are suitable for this pioneering, non-invasive prostate cancer treatment is only a phone call away, and accessing HIFU could not be easier, as we offer the treatment at five private hospitals throughout the UK:

  • The Harley Street Hospital, London
  • BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital, Guildford
  • Spire Southampton Hospital
  • BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital, Windsor
  • BMI The Priory Hospital in Edgbaston

“We wanted the diagnosis of prostate cancer gone, in the best and easiest way possible… and we found focal therapy”
Barry & Jackie, HIFU patient and wife

Our aftercare support is also world-class, as you will receive a schedule of follow-up appointments after your HIFU treatment to ensure that you are progressing well, monitor you for any side-effects, and check levels of a protein called Prostate Specific Antigen or PSA in your blood (which should fall steadily over the months following your treatment).

The results of your treatment will also be monitored with MRI scans and biopsies, as required, to make sure that the cancer has not come back. If cancer cells are found in the prostate after the procedure, or if the cancer returns after a period of time, our team will be on hand to discuss the best course of action and to make treatment recommendations based on your individual case.

As many of our patients are self-funded, we have made sure that HIFU is priced as affordably as possible, at a total cost of £13,000 for treatment, medication, and aftercare. The excellent rates we achieve with our fantastic partner hospitals are based on the high volume of patients we can help with this pioneering prostate cancer treatment every day.

A range of tailored funding options and price-plans are available to help you with the cost of your treatment, though it’s worth noting that many medical insurance providers will fund the cost of HIFU treatment as a globally-recognised, highly-effective therapy for prostate cancer. If you have any form of personal or business medical insurance, check with your provider to see if you are covered.

Our team is on hand to provide further information on self-pay or insurance-funded HIFU Focal Therapy options. Advice is free and without obligation, so do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss your prostate cancer treatment options today.

“HIFU is something people need to be aware of – I believe this treatment should be more widely available and more widely promoted. It wasn’t something suggested to me as a possibility by my urologist and I actually raised it myself. I would recommend HIFU and in fact have recommended it to others.”
