Experience

Nicola obtained a BA (Hons) Psychology degree, gaining experience in psychometric testing, using a variety of international and culture-friendly tests, to enhance the validity and reliability of assessment processes. She designed a course in research methodology for Honours students, whilst lecturing internationally, undertaking research on processes of reconciliation in an emerging social democracy.

Building on this, she has contributed to collaborative biomedical research projects across academic, quasi-governmental and NGO sectors. She worked inter alia on an international HIV/AIDS cost-effectiveness project.

Nicola volunteered on the Community Advisory Board convened by the Medical Research Council to raise awareness of vaccine research, developing informed consent protocols for recruitment of participants to trials, during which time she co-chaired the International CAB, HIV Vaccine Trials Network, Seattle.
